Shipping Policy

1. Shipping Methods
Beite Furniture Co., Ltd. (“beite”) ships products worldwide from our manufacturing bases in Foshan and Jingmen, China. We offer the following shipping methods to accommodate different project timelines and budgets:
Sea Freight (FCL — Full Container Load)
The most economical option for large orders. Containers available in 20-foot (approximately 28 cubic metres), 40-foot (approximately 58 cubic metres), and 40-foot High Cube (approximately 68 cubic metres). Typical transit times: 15-25 days to Southeast Asia, 25-35 days to the Middle East and Europe, 30-40 days to North America, and 20-30 days to Africa and South America.
Sea Freight (LCL — Less than Container Load)
For orders that do not fill a full container. Your goods share container space with other shipments, reducing cost for smaller orders. LCL shipments may have slightly longer transit times due to consolidation and deconsolidation processes. Recommended for orders of 5-20 cubic metres.
Air Freight
For urgent orders or lightweight, high-value items. Typical transit time of 5-10 days to most destinations. Air freight is priced by chargeable weight (actual weight or volumetric weight, whichever is greater). Recommended for sample orders, replacement parts, or time-critical project phases.
Rail Freight
Available for destinations in Central Asia, Russia, and select European routes via the China-Europe Railway Express. Typical transit time of 18-25 days. Balances cost and speed between sea and air freight. Best suited for landlocked destinations.
2. Shipping Terms (Incoterms)
We offer flexible shipping terms based on your preference and logistics capability. The price quoted on your proforma invoice will clearly state the applicable Incoterm:
- FOB (Free On Board) — Shenzhen or Guangzhou: beite delivers the goods to the named port of shipment and clears them for export. The buyer assumes all costs and risks from that point onward, including freight, insurance, import clearance, and inland transport at destination. Recommended for buyers with their own freight forwarder relationships.
- CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight): beite arranges and pays for freight and minimum insurance coverage to the named destination port. The buyer is responsible for import clearance, duties, taxes, and inland transport from the destination port. Recommended for buyers who want a delivered price to their port.
- DAP (Delivered at Place): beite delivers the goods to the named destination address, ready for unloading. The buyer is responsible for import clearance, duties, and taxes. Available to selected destinations with established logistics partnerships.
- EXW (Ex Works) — Foshan or Jingmen: The buyer collects goods directly from our factory and assumes all costs and risks from that point. Available for buyers with their own logistics arrangements in China.
3. Production Lead Times
Production lead times vary by product and order volume. The following are standard lead times from receipt of deposit and confirmed drawings:
- Standard Production: 25-35 working days for most product lines (KYLINC, PARCO, ANCHOR, CABINET, training tables).
- Premium Production: 30-40 working days for HORI executive furniture due to the hand-finishing processes involved.
- Express Production: 15-20 working days available for select products at a surcharge of approximately 15-20% of the order value.
- Custom Orders: 40-60 working days for non-standard dimensions, custom colours, or bespoke designs requiring engineering and prototyping.
- Sample Orders: 10-15 working days for standard finish samples from our sample stock programme.
Lead times are estimates and may vary during peak production periods (typically March-May and September-November). Your account manager will confirm the exact lead time at order confirmation.
4. Packaging Standards
All beite products are packaged for international shipping with the following standards:
- Inner Protection: Each component is individually wrapped in PE foam, bubble wrap, or corrugated cardboard depending on fragility. Worksurfaces receive corner protectors and full-surface foam sheets.
- Outer Cartons: Five-layer export-grade corrugated cartons with moisture-resistant coating. Cartons are labelled with product code, order number, quantity, and handling instructions in English and Chinese.
- Palletisation: Cartons are stacked on heat-treated ISPM 15 compliant wooden pallets, stretch-wrapped, and secured with polyester strapping for container loading.
- Container Loading: Containers are professionally loaded to maximise space utilisation while preventing movement during transit. Photographs of the loaded container are provided before the seal is applied.
- Custom Packaging: Flat-pack (KD) packaging is standard for most products to minimise shipping volume. Pre-assembled shipping is available for certain products at an additional cost.
5. Delivery Timeline
The total timeline from order confirmation to delivery at your destination consists of three phases:
- Production: 25-40 working days from deposit receipt and drawing sign-off (varies by product; see Section 3 above).
- Shipping: 15-40 days depending on destination and shipping method (see Section 1 above). Customs clearance may add 2-5 days depending on the destination country and completeness of documentation.
- Inland Transport: 1-5 days from destination port to your delivery address, depending on distance and local logistics.
As a general guideline, a standard sea freight order to a major European or North American port takes approximately 10-13 weeks from order confirmation to delivery. Your account manager will provide a detailed schedule at order confirmation.
6. Shipping Documentation
We provide the following standard documents with every international shipment:
- Commercial Invoice (with HS codes and country of origin)
- Packing List (detailed by carton with dimensions and weights)
- Bill of Lading (B/L) or Air Waybill (AWB)
- Certificate of Origin (Form E for ASEAN, Form A for GSP countries, or standard COO)
- Fumigation Certificate (for wooden packaging, if applicable)
- Insurance Certificate (if CIF terms or insurance is requested)
Additional documentation — such as third-party inspection reports, lab test certificates, or embassy-legalised documents — can be arranged upon request. Please inform your account manager of any specific documentation requirements for your country or project at the quotation stage.
7. Duties, Taxes, and Import Clearance
Unless CIF or DAP terms are agreed, the buyer is responsible for all import duties, taxes (including VAT/GST), customs brokerage fees, and any other charges levied by the destination country. We recommend consulting with a local customs broker before placing your order to understand the full landed cost.
Beite can provide the HS (Harmonised System) codes for all products to facilitate your duty estimation. We can also recommend trusted customs brokers in major markets upon request.
8. Shipping Damage and Claims
In the event your shipment arrives with visible damage:
- Note the damage on the delivery receipt before signing.
- Take clear photographs of the damaged packaging and products.
- Notify beite within 48 hours of delivery at sharon@beite.hk.
- Retain all packaging materials for carrier inspection if required.
We will work with the carrier to process your claim and arrange replacement of the damaged items. Please refer to our Return Policy for full details on the claims process and timelines.
